TSI Practice Test

A TSI practice test is the fastest way to see how close you are to the college-readiness benchmarks before you sit the real TSIA2. The official exam has two parts: a Mathematics College Readiness Classification (CRC) test with 20 multiple-choice items, and an English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) CRC test with 30 items, half reading and half writing, followed by an essay. Both multiple-choice tests are computer adaptive, so questions get harder or easier depending on how you answer.

Scores are reported on a scale from 910 to 990. To be college ready in math you need a CRC score of 950–990 (or a lower score together with a Mathematics Diagnostic score of 6); for ELAR you need 945–990 plus an essay score of at least 5. Good TSI prep therefore covers both sections: use the TSI Math Practice Test for algebraic, quantitative, geometric and statistical reasoning, and the TSI Reading Practice Test for reading and writing items. Because the TSIA2 is untimed, practice for accuracy first and read the explanation for every missed question before you retake a set.

TSIA benchmark scores are valid for five years from the date you test.
